Thousands of teachers have been left frustrated after the Teachers Service Commission’s (TSC) online sensitisation session on the Public Service Superannuation Scheme (PSSF) reached maximum capacity, preventing many from joining.
According to a circular issued to field officers, the session was scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, and was meant to provide teachers with critical information on retirement benefits and contributions under the PSSF.
However, as teachers attempted to log in, many discovered that the platform had already reached its limit. The lockout denied them access to official guidance on matters directly affecting their financial future.
The incident has sparked discontent among teachers who had made arrangements to participate. They argue that such an important exercise should be accessible to all, given the widespread need for clarity on retirement planning.

The overwhelming demand has underscored the level of interest among teachers in understanding their pension scheme. Many have stressed the importance of receiving information directly from the Commission to avoid confusion and misinformation.
Stakeholders have now urged TSC to consider alternative arrangements, including adopting platforms capable of accommodating larger numbers or conducting the sensitisation in phases. A phased approach, they say, would ensure teachers across different regions are reached without overwhelming the system.
Teachers are calling on the Commission to act swiftly and provide another opportunity for those who missed out. They insist that no teacher should be excluded from information sessions on a matter as vital as retirement security.
