Two Nyamira County MPs, Steve Mogaka of West Mugirango and Patrick Osero of Borabu, have pledged to utilize the NG-CDF to support sports development among the youth, aiming to tap into their untapped talents.

Speaking during the Inter-constituency football tournament held at Nyamira Primary, Mogaka and Osero, the legislators expressed regret over the lack of interest from leaders in nurturing these talents.

They urged school heads to compile lists of students identified with sports talents and submit them for consideration for free scholarships throughout their education.

Additionally, they announced plans to establish Sports Academies, providing comprehensive training for children to enhance their games and skills.

Mogaka disclosed that Nyamira Primary school field would be closed to the public for ten months for extensive renovations to meet standardized training conditions.

Osero commended the Kenya Football Federation (KFF) Nyamira Branch for their efforts in promoting sports in the region, pledging collaboration.

The senators further encouraged youth to diversify their talents, suggesting training in drama and music to tap into the untapped film industry market.

They also advised unemployed university graduates to pursue short-term courses like computer literacy, theater, and refereeing to enhance their employment opportunities.

The event showcased talents in soccer, handball, music, and drama, emphasizing the commitment of Nyamira leaders to youth development.
