Calls grow for probe into death of Munyuki Secondary principal found in river

Lugari politician Hon. Bryan Munika Liseche has called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the death of Mr. Simon Shange, Principal of Munyuki Secondary School.

Lugari politician Bryan Munika Liseche has demanded a swift and transparent investigation into the death of Simon Shange, the Principal of Munyuki Secondary School, whose body was discovered in Kipkaren River after an alleged road accident.

In a press statement issued on Saturday, Liseche expressed deep sorrow over the incident, describing the late educator as a dedicated professional and a pillar of academic excellence in the region.

“It is with profound shock and deep sadness that I have received the devastating news of the untimely demise of the Principal of Munyuki Secondary School,” Liseche said.

“The late Principal was a dedicated educator, a mentor, and a visionary leader who tirelessly worked to uplift the standards of Munyuki Secondary School both academically and in co-curricular activities.”

He hailed the late Shange for his outstanding contribution to the growth of the school, noting that under his leadership, Munyuki Secondary had made remarkable strides in both academics and sports, particularly football, where he mentored many talented students.

However, Hon. Liseche questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident, saying the details reported so far raise more questions than answers.

“While initial reports suggest an accident, the circumstances surrounding his death raise serious questions that cannot be ignored,” he said.

“I call upon security agencies and the government to conduct a thorough, transparent, and speedy investigation into the matter and make the findings public. The truth must be uncovered, and justice served.”

He added that the community deserves clarity on what exactly led to the principal’s death, warning against attempts to cover up the incident.

The Lugari leader extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, students, and staff of Munyuki Secondary School, urging them to find strength in the legacy the late principal left behind.

“Rest in peace, Mwalimu. Your legacy in shaping young minds shall live on,” Hon. Liseche said.

Mr. Shange’s death has shocked the education fraternity and residents of Lugari, with many describing him as a humble, hardworking, and selfless educator who dedicated his life to nurturing future generations.
