President William Ruto has signed The National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) (Amendment) Bill in a bid to bolster education and national development.

He Ruto formalized his approval in the presence of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagaua, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, and other esteemed members of the house leadership.

Notably, the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (Amendment) Act addresses societal needs by enhancing bursaries through amendments to the NG-CDF Bill.

Published on April 24, 2023, the Act, co-sponsored by MP Ichung’wah and Leader of the Minority Party Opiyo Wandayi, aligns the NGCDF with the constitutional mandate.

This ensures that the fund finances projects falling under the exclusive functions of the National Government, as outlined in the Fourth Schedule of the Constitution.
