Academic activities at the University of Eldoret are set to resume fully on Monday, November 2, 2026, following the resolution of the nationwide lecturers' industrial action.

In an internal communication issued by the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs), through the Acting Registrar Academic, Dr Hoseah Kiplagat, students have been instructed to report back to campus promptly to catch up on coursework.

The resumption follows an agreement between university staff unions and the government, bringing an end to weeks of learning disruptions across public universities.

The agreement was reached after intensive negotiations addressing financial demands and grievances relating to the implementation of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).
University to review academic calendar

University management has urged students to adhere strictly to the updated teaching timetables to make up for lost learning time.

Meanwhile, the University Senate is expected to review the academic calendar and communicate any necessary adjustments in due course to ensure the smooth completion of the current semester.

The administration has expressed gratitude to students and staff for their patience and cooperation during the industrial action.

University officials have also emphasised their commitment to restoring normal academic activities and maintaining academic excellence at the institution.
