Laikipia University has resumed academic activities following the suspension of the nationwide industrial action that disrupted public universities for nearly a month.
In a circular issued by the Office of the Registrar (Academic Affairs) on November 1, 2026, the university announced that learning would resume today.
The strike, which began on October 2, 2026, was over the implementation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and unresolved pay demands by university staff unions. It ended after negotiations between the government and union leaders.

Students are expected to report back to class immediately, in line with the timetable originally set for Semester One of the 2026/2027 academic year.

The university administration said measures are under way to recover the teaching time lost during the strike. According to the Registrar's office, a revised academic schedule setting out catch-up arrangements and adjusted deadlines and dates will be published on the university portal within the week.
