Friends School Mugai Secondary situated in Kakamega North Sub-county has now two fully furnished classrooms with 40 chairs and locker tables for students, one chair and table for a teacher and a black chalk wall, thanks to infrastructure funds.
They have also completed an 8-door ablution block for the boys boarding section courtesy of the project that began in September 2017.
It received Sh2.5 million from the governemnt to upgrade the facilities in line with the State’s agenda of realising 100 per cent transition from primary to secondary schools.
The School Principal, Henry Litu appreciates the Government said, “We are very happy that the school was selected to pilot this project. At least the pressure we had in our classrooms will reduce.”
“We used to have close to 100 students per classroom, but now we shall have the standard 40 students ,” Litu said.
