National Fund for Disabled Kenya (NFDK) programme officer Amos Okeyo has called upon parents with kids living with disability to take them to school and stop hiding them at home.

Speaking outside Makueni County commissioner’s office during the issuance of assorted equipment worth Shs 2million to 95 people living with disabilities, Okeyo called upon parents to enroll their children in schools saying every child has a right to education.

He also warned the beneficiaries against selling the equipment they had been given saying they risked being prosecuted.

The beneficiaries got farm tools, sewing machines, wheelchairs, hair salon kits, crutches, leather and welding tool kit.

“I would like to encourage people living with disabilities to seek assistance from the county administrative offices,” said Okeyo.

Agnes Muthoka, a mother of a physically challenged child thanked NFDK for the donation saying her son will now go to school easily after receiving wheelchair.
