Parents challenged to support schools

By Fredrick Odiero

Nyakach Member of Parliament Aduma Owuor has appealed to parents and stakeholders to supplement efforts by the government aimed at providing students with quality education.

Owuor noted that parents should not wait for the government to provide everything in learning institutions.

The MP said it was the prerogative of parents and stakeholders to chip in and supplement what the government is doing.

Owuor was speaking at Sango Buru Mixed Secondary School in Nyakach Constituency when he presented a bus worth Sh8.5 million to the institution.

The MP asked parents and stakeholders to give school heads adequate support so that they can deliver.

Owuor commended the school principal Mr. George Nyangwe for his endeavor to uplift the school.

The MP also noted that the school has realized a lot since the school head reported there in 2012.

Owuor said other schools namely; Lisana, Abawo, Anding’o Opanga, Kajimbo, Mbugra and Moro are also set to benefit from the same gesture.

Earlier, the MP urged chiefs and their assistants to facilitate students who have attained the age of 18 years and above to secure the National Identification cards.

Owuor said the move will ensure that young people register as voters.
