Teachers in Nandi County are expected to converge at the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) St Barnabas Church in Kapsabet on Thursday, October 22 (today), for a mega interdenominational prayer meeting organised by the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET).
The gathering, to be held at the ACK Nandi Headquarters, comes following the recent deaths of several teachers from the county, raising concern within the teaching fraternity and prompting calls for collective prayers.
KUPPET is organising the meeting to bring together teachers from different religious denominations to pray for their colleagues, seek spiritual comfort and strengthen unity among educators during a difficult period.(Education News Kenya — https://educationnews.co.ke/news/kuppet-organises-mega-prayer-meeting-for-nandi-teachers-following-recent-deaths)
A large turnout is expected, with teachers drawn from various parts of Nandi County anticipated to attend the event.
The prayers will provide an opportunity for members of the teaching fraternity to come together in faith, remember their departed colleagues and offer support to those affected by the recent losses.
The gathering is also expected to give teachers a platform to reflect on the challenges facing the profession while seeking God's guidance, protection and strength for educators and their families.
The initiative highlights the importance of solidarity among teachers, with the union bringing members together not only to address professional concerns but also to support one another during moments of grief.
The interdenominational service is expected to unite teachers across faiths in a shared appeal for peace, protection and well-being within the education sector.
