Sharon Natasha Wanjala, a Grade 9 learner at Maliki Primary Junior Secondary School in Bungoma County, has reportedly gone missing as her classmates continue to sit the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA). Her desk has stayed empty for the second consecutive day of the assessments.
According to her family, Sharon left home after a disagreement with her mother over phone use. Her mother took away her phone and broke the SIM card.
The following day, Sharon stayed at home as her family went to church, saying she needed to complete a school assignment. When they returned, she was gone.

Her disappearance has left the family distressed. Her mother has made an emotional appeal for help to find her daughter and make sure she does not miss her national assessments.

The family is asking members of the public with any information on Sharon's whereabouts to help in her safe return. Anyone with information can contact the family on 0705006779 or 0726531213, or report to the nearest police station.
