A teacher at S.A. Wabukhonyi Secondary School in Bungoma County was overwhelmed with emotion after his 82 Form Four candidates presented him with a cow and other gifts to thank him for his dedication to their education.
Mr Samson Munialo, the class teacher of the 2026 Form Four Noble girls, received the gifts during the school's Prayer Day. The students also gave him a hoodie, rubber shoes and a warm blanket, expressing gratitude for his guidance, support and commitment throughout their studies.
The surprise left Munialo deeply touched. He said the experience had created lasting memories, adding that the affection shown by the girls meant more to him than the material value of the gifts.
The gesture comes as the candidates prepare to sit their 2026 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations. Munialo wished the learners success and prayed for God's guidance as they pursue their dreams beyond secondary school.
The occasion showed the impact teachers can have on learners beyond the classroom, and the value of mutual respect between teachers and students as the candidates approach the end of their secondary school journey.
