Makueni hosts regional Kenya Science and Engineering Fair

Makueni County Director of Education Charles Nyakundi confirmed that preparations were complete for hosting the Kenya Science and Engineering Fair (KSEF) at the regional level.

Speaking in his office to Education News, Nyakundi announced that the four-day event will run from next Tuesday, the arrival day, to Saturday, the departure day.

The Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo and other distinguished guests opened the event. Nyakundi further revealed that accommodation for participants had been arranged at Mwaani Girls and Boys Secondary Schools and Makueni Boys and Girls Secondary Schools.

“There is no cause for concern, as security has been fully provided, and all necessary measures are in place to ensure a smooth event,” said Nyakundi.

He invited the public to attend and witness the creativity and innovation showcased by students from different schools during the event.

He added that the fair benefits the local business community, which the planning committee has engaged. Vendors will operate under the supervision of the security team to prevent interruptions and ensure a peaceful and successful event.

Nyakundi recalled that Makueni County previously hosted the regional drama festival in 2019 at Mwaani Girls, a highly successful event. He expressed confidence that the upcoming KSEF would achieve the same level of success.

Makueni County will be presenting 26 projects at the regional level.

“We are looking forward to productive engagement through students’ projects,” Nyakundi said.
