Kisumu Day and Kisumu Boys take their soccer rivalry to the county championship  

Kisumu Day players celebrate after scoring their fourth goal against Kisumu Boys.

Kisumu Day High School defeated Kisumu Boys High School by a resounding 4-0 scoreline in the Kisumu Central Sub-county football boys finals.

The match took place at a fully packed Kisumu Boys grounds, and Kisumu Day showcased their impressive goal-scoring form.

Their captain, Elisha Otieno, set the tone by scoring within the opening 10 seconds, followed by Kennedy Ochieng’s goal. Brian Odiwuor and Neville Simiyu added to the tally, securing Kisumu Day’s win.

The team then secured their spot in the 2024 Kisumu County Secondary School Term Two finals, scheduled to take place at Maseno School on June 12. Kisumu Boys will also participate since Kisumu Day are the defending county champions, resulting in Kisumu Central Sub-county sending two teams.

Additionally, Maseno School’s rugby 7s showcased their prowess in the Kisumu West Sub-county games, securing a spot in the upcoming Kisumu County school games.

The ‘Wazimba’ displayed flawless performance, securing victory in every match with impressive margins. They kicked off their campaign by defeating Chulaimbo 45-00. Next, they secured an impressive 94-00 victory against Obede, followed by a convincing 40-00 win over Kuoyo. Their dominance peaked as they triumphed over St. Gabriels with an emphatic 77-00 score.

Kuoyo and St. Gabriels also qualified alongside Maseno, finishing second and third, respectively, granting them the opportunity to represent their sub-county in the county games.
