Kerongorori Mixed Secondary school in Kisii County has beaten all odds to maintain its traditional good results in the 2020 KCSE examinations.

In 2020, the school registered 231 candidates with 171 of them securing direct entry to university. This has lifted the mean score of the school up from 7.3 in 2019 to 7.5 this year.

The school Principal, Mrs Tabitha Mogonchi said that the main pillars of the school’s success were strong Christian principles, teamwork by teachers, early completion of the syllabus, and student discipline.

The long serving principal who is also the Chair of KESSHA, Kenyenya branch, said that her school has remained constant on the track of excellence among the 42 secondary schools in Kenyenya sub county, even though for the last three consecutive years, it has been behind Riokindo High School that has emerged to be the champion of academics in the entire Kisii County.

Tabitha says that she envisions the school among the top ten national schools in the near future. ”We have laid good strategies for better results than this because we know we are able,” she said.
