Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) is set to broaden its international reach through a strategic partnership with Vignan’s University of India, in a move expected to transform its academic landscape and boost global collaboration.

The partnership, now in the final stages of formalization through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), was announced following a high-level meeting hosted by Vihiga County Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo. The meeting brought together KAFU leadership, county officials, and a delegation from Vignan’s University to discuss collaborative efforts in research, technology, innovation, and student exchange.

According to university officials, the agreement will establish joint academic programs, facilitate international research projects, and enable student and faculty exchanges between the two institutions.

“This is a game-changer for KAFU,” said Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter Mwita. “It aligns with our vision to become a world-class university by enhancing global exposure and strengthening academic excellence.”

Governor Ottichilo welcomed the development, saying the partnership would not only benefit the university but also contribute to the socio-economic growth of Vihiga County through skills development and innovation.

Implementation of the agreement is expected to begin shortly after the MoU is signed, opening new doors for KAFU students and staff to engage with global academic networks and emerging technologies.
