International schools worldwide have been encouraged to submit their entries for the inaugural ‘Tes Awards for International Schools’ before the November 3rd deadline.
According to a press release dated October 20, 2023, these awards are organized by Tes, a global leader in providing education solutions, and offer an opportunity for schools and educators to celebrate their outstanding achievements during the 2022/23 academic year.
Similar to the renowned UK Tes Awards, often dubbed ‘the Oscars of education,’ these international awards aim to recognize and applaud the remarkable contributions of international schools and their dedicated staff members.
The Tes International Editor Dan Worth expressed that these awards enable the international schools sector to showcase innovative teaching practices and celebrate their successes, emphasizing the significant impact they make on students worldwide.
Entries are open and free to all international schools outside the UK that follow the British Curriculum or International Baccalaureate (IB) programs.
With 5,700 schools delivering International Baccalaureate programs in 159 countries, these awards have a broad international reach and have garnered support from leading international school associations, including BSME, COBIS, ECIS, FOBISIA, and the IB.
The shortlisting process for the awards will commence in February 2024, with the overall winners announced in April 2024.
Last year, Tes partnered with global educational communities to offer IPGCE, and many teachers worldwide have benefited from their initiatives.
The Executive Director for ECIS Kam Chohan stressed that the awards aim to recognize the incredible work of teachers worldwide and the positive change they bring to classrooms.
John Gwyn Jones MBE, CEO for FOBISIA, and Olli-Pekka Heinonen, Director General of International Baccalaureate, also expressed their enthusiasm for supporting the awards which provide a chance to share best practices and collectively advance the cause of education worldwide.
