Governor Wanga salutes schools that performed well in KCPE

Governor Gladys Wanga who praised schools and candidates in her county that excelled in 2023 KCPE.

Homabay County Governor Gladys Wanga has praised teachers and candidates of various schools in the county that posted impressive results in the 2023 KCPE examinations.

“I have seen that with unity and determination among our teachers and learner we can achieve a lot in the education sector,” she said.

The governor was speaking in Homabay town when she met a section of education stakeholders on Monday.

She observed that both public and private institutions ran neck and neck to score high marks, saying it was a healthy competition.

Among the schools that posted good results include St. Anthony Wachira Christian School, Janeiro Junior Academy, and Fr. Scheuferr Boarding Primary School.

Janeiro Junior Academy carried the mantle of success with Joy Akinyi, Jafferson Odhiambo and Jesse Okumu scoring 419, 412 and 397 marks respectively.

At Fr. Cheuffer, Anne Mboya scored 407 marks as Aden Mboya followed with 401 while Nickson Wara and Fiona Pascal hit 400 and 398 marks respectively.

Anthoney Wachira Christian School had Flovia Owino getting 407 marks followed by Emillier Akelo who garnered 389 marks as Neecy Odhiambo and Stanley Odhiambo tied at 397.

Other school that dominated are Ratanga, Gendia and Ober Boys Boarding Primary School.

Ratanga Primary School head teacher David Seber cited non-meddling of parents in school matters as the main reason they performed well.

Patrick Were, Gendia Primary school head teacher, attributed the good performance to early syllabus coverage and discipline among pupils.
