Angry parents issue threats after pupil is hurt on the way home to get snacks

Enraged parents of a public primary school in Budalang’i Constituency of Busia County have threatened to March to the sub-county headquarters to protest against a section of teachers exposing children to danger by sending them home.

This was after a child was injured while crossing a busy highway on the way home. The injured pupil was rushed to a nearby health centre for an emergency medical attention, where she was treated and discharged.

Several school pupils from the learning institution have been sent home regularly to buy snacks for breakfast, exposing them to such dangers.

However, the school head assured the enraged parents that effective steps have already been put in place that would ensure the safety of the pupils.

The school management board later mobilized the parents to erect speed bumps along the busy highway that has become a black spot.
