The police in Homabay have arrested a standard seven boy for allegedly killing his grandmother on Monday.

According to the residents, the rogue boy had a short exchange of words with his grandmother over food before he hacked her to death.

“The maddened boy hacked the old woman with an axe several times and killed her as we watched helplessly because we feared for our lives,” briefed a villager who asked for anonymity.

Homabay County Deputy Police Commander Mrs. Elizabeth Serenoi confirmed the bizarre death. She said: “It was a brutal killing that one cannot imagine it came from a fellow human being.”

Mrs. Serenoi also briefed that the suspect vented his anger on the five goats and three homestead cows, killing them after murdering the woman.

She said that the body of the 70-year old deceased woman, who was identified as Pricilah Orude, was taken to Homabay County Hospital mortuary pending further police investigation.

The police commander appealed to the community policing teams and location chiefs to work hand in hand to identify wayward youths in their homes and hand them to over to authorities before they committed greater crimes.

She said that the suspect will be taken to hospital for mental checkup before his arraignment in court.
