Kwa Kituna Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) institution in Kangundo Constituency which had been closed for over eight years has been re-opened.
Kangundo Central Member of County Assembly, Dickson Maundu, urged the locals to bring their children to the school to make it grow.
He visited the school and gave out new tables and chairs and promised to ensure the school infrastructure is improved.
“In conjunction with the county, we have opened the school again. We have a new teacher, and the school will function once again. I plead with parents to support the school by bringing their children. Currently, there are only eight pupils. The school infrastructure will be improved with time,” said the lawmaker.
Maundu expressed optimism that next term; the school will have a great number of learners.
Elated parents who addressed the media said their children were going to Kangundo DEB and Kathaana Primary Schools which are very far, thus children were force to walk for long distances.
“The reopening of the school will have our young children who have been trekking for over a kilometer to reach school. We are happy that our MCA thought about reviving it,” said a parent.
