Professionals partner with schools to plant 350,000 trees

Professionals and schools  in Baringo have embarked on an ambitious tree planting exercise that will see planting of a whooping 350,000 trees worth Ksh. 6 Million in schools, urban centers and water catchment areas.

The initiative by Baringo Liberal Minds (BLM) seeks to educate schools and the public on importance of protecting environment from exacerbating effects of climate change which is now a global threat.

The group based in Baringo is popularly known for their  pivotal role in assisting students from humble background and advocacy.

Speaking during the exercise at their county offices , the organization chairman Professor Daniel Chebutuk and Engineer Kipkemboi Morwess lauded professionals and the county government of Baringo for their personal contributions towards realization of the noble course.

The duo said they are fearing the wanton destruction of forests by human activities could soon became a catastrophe.

The Moi University don  however stressed that two schools have been identified in each of the six sub counties in Baringo with Kabarnet Boys High School and Kapsigorian Primary School from Baringo Central benefiting from the inaugural event.

Eng. Morwess also said Lake Kapnorok, Kirdam among other water towers in the county will reap big from the initiative.
Equity bank Kabarnet branch Manager Willy Bett and Lake Bogoria SPA General Manager and Africa Travel Award Winner Mrs Lydia Dentewo were among partners who supported the worthy course.
The duo challenged other partners to join and commit themselves in strategic partnership with the organization.
