St Peter’s Boys National School, Mumias, has held a special prayer session for this year’s KCSE candidates, with the boys committing themselves to excel in the forthcoming national examinations.
The prayers brought together candidates, teachers, parents and invited guests as the school prepared its learners for the final examinations.
Speaking during the session, the school’s chief principal urged the more than 670 candidates to remain disciplined throughout the examination period, warning that any errant behaviour would not be tolerated.
He encouraged the candidates to remain focused, assuring them that the examinations would be based on the syllabus they had covered and that there was no need to panic.
The school head also called on parents to remain prayerful for their sons as they undertake the examinations, particularly for their good health and success.
The boys, on their part, promised their parents that they were ready for the examinations and had been adequately prepared by their teachers to emerge victorious.

They expressed confidence in achieving a mean score of 9.0 and a 100 per cent transition rate to higher education this year.
Chaplain urges discipline and faith
The school chaplain, Fr Joseph Ligule, presided over the prayer session and offered words of encouragement to the boys.
He urged them to continue observing school rules and regulations while remaining prayerful and trusting God for success in their examinations.

Parents expressed gratitude to the teachers for guiding the boys academically and shaping their character over the past four years.
Also present was Dr Boniface Mukhwana, identified as the Principal Secretary for Economic Planning, who challenged the candidates to work hard and excel in their examinations.
He encouraged them to take their studies seriously, saying employment opportunities were available to those who worked smart and acquired the right qualifications.
