The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has stepped up its nationwide examination oversight, with Acting Chief Executive Officer Evaleen Mitei taking part in field monitoring in Lang'ata, Nairobi County, following the opening and distribution of examination materials on Monday morning.
Mitei began her engagement with a courtesy visit to Lang'ata Deputy County Commissioner Walter Katonon at his office, where examination preparedness, security coordination and the prevention of malpractice were discussed.

During the meeting, Mr Katonon assured the visiting multi-agency team that security had been reinforced, with additional officers deployed to examination centres to deter interference, protect examination materials and prevent any attempts at malpractice.

After the meeting, Mitei joined the multi-agency team in monitoring visits to Lang'ata High School and Sunshine Secondary School.

The visits were meant to assess the progress of examination administration, observe compliance with established procedures and establish the level of preparedness at the two institutions.

The exercise also underscored the Commission's involvement in ensuring that teachers and examination personnel discharge their responsibilities professionally throughout the assessment period.

The TSC has maintained that security, transparency and accountability remain central to the successful administration of examinations. The strengthened surveillance arrangements are intended to protect candidates from unfair practices and ensure that examination outcomes reflect their individual efforts and demonstrated competencies.

Through its collaboration with security agencies and other government departments, the Commission has reiterated that examination integrity is a shared national responsibility.
