Kajiado County has 14,394 candidates sitting the 2026 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, which began on Monday, November 2, 2026. Learners reported to centres across the county to start the national tests.
County Director of Education Dr Martin Cheruiyot said field teams are closely monitoring the exercise to ensure the examination period runs without hitches.
Dr Cheruiyot said boys and girls are sitting the papers in almost equal numbers. He credited the government's re-entry policy for the balance, saying it has given girls a dependable route back into school and helped them close the gap with their male classmates.
Heavy rain fell across the county in the two days before the examinations, but Dr Cheruiyot said it had stopped. He said ground teams are ready to handle any challenges that arise as the papers continue.
