A woman in Narok Town has been placed into forced isolation by the police after arriving from Sweden and heading to Narok without observing the 14 day mandatory quarantine period.
Narok County Commissioner Samuel Kimiti said she arrived in the country on March 18th from the Nordic country and ignored the self-quarantine directives issued by the government.
Sweden has registered 8,571 confirmed cases, out of which 339 have recovered while 696 have lost their lives..
Kimiti said efforts to trace people she came in contact with were on going, among them church members who welcomed her back home at a church service, despite the government banning social gatherings.
“For now the lady is being quarantined at Narok Referral Hospital until she gets a clean bill of health,” said Kimiti
He said the woman will be charged in court after the 14 day quarantine period for ignoring the self-isolation orders.
