In the calm environment of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, parents and guardians started flocking to the gates and straight to the graduation square, ready for the great day.
And as the band started playing popular songs and leading the procession, some parents could be seen shedding tears of joy as they identified their graduands, all in colourful gowns.
Dalton Kuyo was one proud student who graduated on October 24, 2025.
He was born in Narosura village in Narok County, and as a young boy, he used to look after his parents’ livestock.
One day, some learners on their way to school passed through the field where he was taking care of the family’s livestock, and the urge to go to school struck him like lightning.
The following day, Dalton broke the news to his parents, who, after realising his dream of education, encouraged him to start school immediately.
His early education began at Naikara Boarding Primary School in 2014.
He then proceeded to Moi High School, Naivasha, where he did his KCPE in 2018.
