Migori County Government has rolled out water project to boost education standards in Central Kamagambo Ward.
The water project established within the premises of Nyarach Mixed Secondary School will not only benefit the school but also the neighbouring Nyarach Primary School and locals.
Speaking at Nyarach Secondary School during the inspection of the project, Rongo Sub-County Administrator Mr. Seth Odoyo said the project targets to improve education standards of learners and also ease access of water to the locals.
Odoyo urged locals to guard the water project against vandalism.
The area residents lauded the county government for rolling out the water project that will benefit them immensely.
Led by Mrs. Pamela Ogendi, the thanked the government for the project that they said will ease their suffering.
Nyarach Mixed Secondary School Principal Mr. Joseph Opiyo assured the sub county administrator that the school has made plans to ensure the equipment used in the project are safe especially at night by hiring a watchman.
“Immediately after completion of this project, we sat down as a school together with the board of management to delegate on the necessary measures to be taken in ensuring the project is safe since its meant to assist”, said Opiyo.
Opiyo noted the school needs 12 cubic litres of water for use on a daily basis which they spent Sh90, 000 every week to access clean water for use in the school.
