KNEC to open registration of 2022 Grade 6, KCPE, KCSE exams

Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. David Njengere has revealed that the registration of the 2022 Grade 6, KCPE and KCSE examinations is scheduled to take place from 27th April, 2022 to 14th May, 2022.

Speaking during the release of the 2021 KCSE exams at KNEC offices, Dr Njengere requested heads of institutions to ensure that all candidates are registered before the closure of the registration period.

 “KNEC will not have late registration hence parents and guardians must work closely with heads of institutions to ensure that all eligible learners are duly registered,” he said.

He further added that KNEC has issued a circular to this effect through the relevant offices.

Dr Njengere expressed satisfaction with the manner in which the marking of KCSE 2021 was conducted.

He pointed out that the exams were administered to 826,807 candidates between 28th February and 1st April 2022 and that the candidates registered for 31 subjects which were tested in 76 papers.

He went on to add that during the field administration of the exams, KNEC engaged 96,449 field officers including Regional, County and Sub-county officers from the Ministry of Interior and National Coordination of Government; MoE and TSC.

“I would like to appreciate this inter agency team for their commitment and dedication towards ensuring successful administration of the examination. I would also like to appreciate the 29,116examiners who worked tirelessly between 14th March to 20th April  2022 to mark the exams,” he said.

He further explained that the processing of the examination results was undertaken by a dedicated team of KNEC officers.

 Dr Njengere concluded by wishing God’s blessings on all the 2021 KCSE candidates as they transition to the next phase of their lives.

“I also wish to reiterate the commitment of KNEC towards the realization of Education Goals of the country, the Kenya Vision 2030 and other global Development Goals.” He concluded.
