A Kisii National Polytechnic student Lucy Boke has been stabbed to death by lover in her residence.

The Chairman of Nyumna Kumi Richard Nyamweno said he received an alert from the deceased’s landlord on Thursday night.

“Upon arriving at the scene, I discovered locals preparing to take justice into their own hands, but I intervened and summon the police,’ Nyamweno stated.

He further noted that the suspect, who had traveled from Kuria in Migori County to Kisii in search of the victim, was the deceased girl’s boyfriend.

“Reportedly, a quarrel ensued between them, culminating in a fatal stabbing within her rented accommodation,” he explained.

Kisii County police Commander Charles Keses urged the agitated students to refrain from seeking retribution and allow the police to conduct a thorough investigation.

Keses also advised the Polytechnic administration to guide students in choosing secure rental accommodations outside the institution to mitigate potential risks posed by unfamiliar individuals.

The suspect was taken into custody for statement recording and further inquiry.

“The victim’s body was transferred to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary,” Keses reported.
