Union to sponsor first teachers sporting contest in novel bonding plan

Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Kisii Branch has released its calendar of matches among teachers.

Announcing the programs on Sunday, the County Chairman Laban Ouko said the matches will consist of teachers’ teams from all Sub counties in the region.

“I call upon all Sub counties to train well in order to make the meet a success.” He said

The chairman said that the major objective of the games will be to create a forum for bonding by the teaching fraternity.

“Teachers are not confined within classrooms only but they can be ambassadors of peace by engaging in many activities like sports.” He said.

Mr. Ouko said the first matches which will include football and volleyball will be played at Tender Stadium on the 30th of August this year.

Teams that have confirmed their participation include Gucha South, Gucha, Sameta, Kisii Central, and Marani.

The chairman said that the matches will be played for two months and the final matches among the qualifying teams to be played in September.

He said that the winning teams will plan to meet other teams from the rest of the country.
