West Pokot County Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) branch Vice Secretary Raymond Rukotulia has urged all the teachers in the county to move with speed and get the Covid-19 Jab.
Rukotulia advised teachers who are among the front line workers like the health personnel and security officers to take precaution by getting vaccinated against Covid-19.
“The 3rd wave of Covid-19 is taking the lives of Kenyans at an alarming rate therefore we cannot wait for this to happen to our hardworking teachers”, Rukotulia said.
Rukotulia also urged those teachers who have gotten the first injection to go for the second injection as advised by health personnel when they received the first round injection.
The unionist also advised parents to take care of the learners while they are at home during the holiday.
“My advice to all, wash your hands regularly, sanitize, keep social distance and always adhere to the required health protocols”, Rukotulia said.
