Uasin Gishu Woman Rep Gladys Sholei has donated 56 water tanks to primary schools in the county.
Speaking to the press after handing over the tanks, Sholei said the 5,000-litres containers will help in the fight against coronavirus.
“The tanks will enable students wash their hands regularly,” she said.
Shollei said most primary schools in the County were experiencing water shortages.
She urged school principals and Boards of Management to ensure that the Ministry of Health protocols on Covid-19 are adhered to.
She also distributed bursary worth Sh2 million to bright and needy students from the county.
She said the funds will help those students whose parents were affected by the effects of the pandemic.
