Shock as student dies in school

A somber mood has engulfed St. Paul’s Amasago Secondary School in Kisii County after a form four student was found dead in the dormitory.

According to colleagues, the students finished their evening studies before retiring to the dormitories for sleep at 10.00 pm. However, when they woke up at dawn for morning preps, one of their colleagues was missing.

They reported the matter to the principal who went to check his bed only to find his lifeless body.

The school principal Mr. Anthoney Nyatundo informed the parents of the incident as police came to the scene before taking the body to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

Learning about the death of his son, the father, namely Moses Metobo, narrated that he was the only male among his six children.

“Death has taken the apple of my eye,” said the tearful father who comes from Tabaka Village in South Mugirango Constituency.

Following the sudden death, parents have asked the police to carry thorough investigation and inform them in order to clear their fears.
