Nyanza leaders have been advised to avoid wasting time on politics and rather concentrate on modalities of reclaiming lost education glory in the region.

The ODM chairperson, also Suba South Member of Parliament Hon. John Mbadi called on elected leaders to concentrate on uplifting the standards of living for their constituents through education to ensure provision of relevant required facilities in schools and to enable learners concentrate and compete favorably with other regions.

Mbadi encouraged leaders not to worry of being re-elected into office for their track records shall speak for them when the right time comes.

“Your good deed in the society and on the impact you have made in the lives of your constituents shall help you defend your seats when the election time comes,” said Mbadi as he encouraged locals to elect leaders depending on their track records.

His sentiments were also echoed by Migori County Senator Hon. Dr. Ochilo Ayako who also urged locals to focus on education and ensure learners are well prepared to realize their dreams.

He urged leaders to work in unison to ensure that the education standards in the region are uplifted through support of learners pursuing different courses in higher institutions.

Ayako who is eying for the county’s gubernatorial seat pledged to ensure learners in higher learning institutions are supported through bursaries to ease their access to education once elected into office.

The leaders were speaking at the official opening of Rongo university branch at Macalder in Nyatike Constituency over the weekend.
