Prof. Peter Mwita has been officially appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Kaimosi Friends University after serving in an acting capacity. The confirmation follows a competitive recruitment process conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the University Council.
In a statement released by Dr. Bernadette A. Mungai, Chairperson of the University Council, Prof. Mwita’s appointment takes effect from May 14, 2025, for a five-year term.
“This appointment comes after a rigorous selection process and reflects our confidence in Prof. Mwita’s leadership,” Dr. Mungai said. “He has demonstrated commitment and competence during his time as acting Vice-Chancellor, and we are confident he will continue to steer the university toward excellence,”

Prof Mwita steps into the role permanently at a time when Kaimosi Friends University is striving to expand its academic programs, research output, and institutional influence.
The University Council has called on students, faculty, staff, and partners to offer their full support as Prof. Mwita officially assumes office and leads the institution into its next phase of development.
