The Eldoret National Polytechnic Chief Principal, Charles Koech, has urged Kenyans to utilize the rainy season and plant trees.
He said the move to plant more trees will contribute to increased forest cover in the country.
“I call upon Kenyans to take advantage of this rainy season and plant trees since they are beneficial for the soil as it fix Nitrogen and helps to increase forest cover,” said the Eldoret National Polytechnic Principal.
He also said that planting of trees will ensure that the county achieves 10 percent forest cover.
He spoke after he hosted Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii among other dignitaries during the official opening of Governor’s Tournament (Volleyball) at Eldoret National Polytechnic grounds.mto support the Chief Principal.
“I want to thank our Chief Principal Charles Koech for running this institution well and as the County Government we will support him in his endeavors,” said Govrnor Bii.
