The Masibo Open Tournament concluded over the weekend after an action-packed weekend of competitive hockey. The annual tournament, hosted by St Anthony Boys High School Kitale under the leadership of Senior Principal Simon Masibo once again highlighted the depth of talent in school and college hockey.
In the college men’s final, United States International University (USIU) delivered a commanding performance, defeating Eldoret Youth 3-0 to claim the championship.
Their attacking efficiency and defensive solidity proved too much for Eldoret, who struggled to break through USIU’s disciplined backline.
However, the women’s category saw a major shift in fortunes as Eldoret Polytechnic edged out USIU 1-0 in a closely fought encounter to clinch their first ever title.
