South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro has urged leaders from Migori and Kisii counties to work together towards upgrading Kamagambo School which has old infrastructure.
Osoro urged the locals and their leaders to lay aside their political differences and instead focus on development projects especially in the education sector.
He promised to lead by example by putting up street lights to boost security at the facility.
He also urged leaders from Migori County to allow him to invite the deputy president Dr. William Ruto for a fund drive at the institution to help construct more classrooms.
Migori county governor Zachary Okoth Obado also pledged to work together with the MP and the deputy president to improve the infrastructure in the facility.
Their sentiments came after Kamagambo Teachers Training College (TTC) principal Mr. Willis Ateng’ mentioned the need to put up more buildings and equip schools to boost performances.
Speaking during the 72nd graduation ceremony at Kamagambo TTC, Ateng’ called on leaders and other education stakeholders to assist in uplifting the facilities at the institution despite it being owned by the Seventh Day Adventist church.
With a population exceeding 2,000 students at the TTC, 800 in secondary school and 400 pupils in primary, Ateng’ noted that the facility and the learners are destined for a bright future which can only be realized if more efforts are put in place by leaders and other education stakeholders towards supporting the dreams of the facility.
