St Brigid's Kiminini Girls High School in Trans Nzoia County is preparing to bid farewell to Chief Principal Inviolata Lukorito Makhanu following 23 years of service at the institution.
Makhanu's retirement marks the end of a long career at the school, where she rose through the ranks from classroom teacher to the institution's top leadership position. A trained Kiswahili and Christian Religious Education (CRE) teacher, Makhanu began her career at St Brigid's as a teacher, a position she held for seven years before being appointed Deputy Principal, serving for another four years. She later took over as Principal, a role she held for 12 years before rising to the rank of Chief Principal.
Her journey through the school's leadership ranks reflects years of professional growth and commitment to the education and development of learners. During her tenure, Makhanu earned recognition as a leader who valued teamwork, mentorship and respect for colleagues, helping to shape the institution's working environment and support fellow educators.
Her leadership journey also highlights the role of experienced school administrators in guiding teachers, nurturing learners and sustaining the growth of educational institutions.
As she exits active service, colleagues and the school community are celebrating her contribution to St Brigid's Kiminini Girls, where she spent more than two decades building relationships and serving successive generations of learners.
Her retirement closes a significant chapter in the school's history, while her legacy of dedication, mentorship and professional growth is expected to remain an inspiration to those she worked with. The school now bids farewell to a leader whose career at the institution spanned 23 years, from the classroom to the highest level of school administration.
