The Ministry of Education has released the 2027 national and post-national co-curricular activities calendar, setting out the schedule of student competitions across the country.
In a directive signed by Principal Secretary John Ololtuaa, regional directors, county officers and school heads are required to align their sub-county and regional games with the new schedule.
Term One
Term One activities will be centred in Machakos County from April 8 to 15. Kenyatta Stadium will host secondary and primary school disciplines including 15-a-side rugby, athletics, basketball, hockey, handball, cross country and swimming.
During the same period, Embu County will host the National Drama and Film Festival, while Mombasa will host student innovators for the Kenya Science and Engineering Fair at Shimo La Tewa. Mombasa's Shanzu Teachers Training College will also host the TTC athletics championship from late March to early April.
Term Two
Term Two activities build up to the mid-year window between July 24 and August 1, featuring ball games, racquet sports, chess, scrabble and special needs competitions across primary, junior and secondary levels.
Alongside the sporting events, the Kenya Music Festival will be held in Nyanza, with Kisii County hosting from July 20 to August 3.
FEASSSA Games in Kigali
Following a national preparation camp starting August 17, Kenya's delegation will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games from August 24 to September 3, 2027.
