Machogu lauds gov’t for ICT partnership with Eldoret Poly

Education CS Machogu has lauded the government through the state department of Information Communication Technology (ICT) for partnering with the Eldoret National Polytechnic to set up Jitume Computer labs for students and locals seeking online jobs.

Speaking during the institution’s 18th graduation ceremony, Machogu said Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) rolled out by the government has played crucial role in nurturing of talents of youth in the TVET institutions.

He guaranteed that government is dedicated in allocating more funds through the newly introduced education funding model to support the quarter citing that Ksh. 9.2 Billion has already been disbursed.

While congratulating the 2692 graduands, the CS reiterated that there was need for the cohort to pursue further studies to compete favorably with their peers globally to meet the emerging trends in the sector.

The Institution Chief Principal Charles Koech noted that Recognition of Prior Learning was new frontier adopted by the institution to recognize and award students for their creativity in skills and innovativeness in different fields.
