Kuppet asks TSC to employ more teachers in Nandi

Nandi branch of Kenya Union of Post Primary Education (KUPPET) is asking Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to employ more secondary school teachers in the county.

According to the branch secretary Mr. Paul Rotich, the county is currently experiencing high shortage of teachers.

“I am appealing to the National government through Teachers Service Commission to ensure they employ enough teachers in a bid to enhance quality education,” he says.

He was speaking to journalists in Kapsabet town where he cited that Nandi has a shortage of Four thousand teachers saying the wide gap has negatively affected the quality standards of education in the county insisting that the government should move with speed in filling the gaps by employing more teachers.

He said that the shortage of teachers’ statistics in the region was alarming and that Teachers Service Commission should tackle the issue once and for all by employing more teachers to better the learning of students in learning institutions.

“As KUPPET officials from Nandi want the government to consider the needs for employing of enough teachers for better tomorrow of our students,” he affirmed.
