It is a relief for students who missed out on the first placement at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) announced that it has extended the deadline.
In a statement posted by KUCCPS and seen by Education News, the new deadline for placement application will be Saturday, September 16, 2023.
“Did you apply for Kenya Medical Training College courses through KUCCPS but missed? Log in to students.kuccps.net and choose another KMTC course, free of charge,” the statement read in part.
The initial deadline for KMTC placement had been pegged for Sunday, September 10, 2023 but KUCCPS stated that a number of students had been left out.
Eligible students have been asked to visit http://students.kuccps.net to choose another course and http://kuccps.ac.ke for more information.
The portal has 30 Kenya Medical Training programmes available for application.
KMTC is a state corporation under the Ministry of Health entrusted with the role of training the various health disciplines in the health sector, to serve the local, regional and international markets.
It is the largest health training institution in Kenya, with over 40,000 students enrolled in various programs.
Programmes at the diploma and certificate levels include community health nursing, mental health and psychiatry, midwifery, radiography and imaging, medical laboratory sciences, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physiotherapy and public health among others.
KMTC has over 70 campuses located all over the country.
