The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has opened the recruitment exercise for contracted professionals who will administer and supervise the 2026 national examinations and assessments.
The exercise targets about 230,000 contracted professionals who will be engaged in various roles to facilitate the smooth, secure and credible administration of the examinations across the country.
KNEC is seeking professionals to serve in various examination administration roles, including centre managers, supervisors and invigilators during the 2026 examination and assessment period.
School heads, including principals and headteachers, are expected to play a key role as centre managers, overseeing the overall administration of examinations and ensuring that examination rules are strictly followed.
Supervisors and invigilators will be responsible for maintaining order in examination rooms, supervising candidates and ensuring compliance with KNEC regulations throughout the examination period.
Registration through CP2
KNEC requires contracted professionals to access the Contracted Professionals (CP2) system to create accounts, complete or update their profiles and apply for available examination roles.
Existing contracted professionals should also ensure that their details on the system are accurate and up to date.
Applicants are expected to meet the required professional and integrity standards, subject to KNEC’s requirements.
The Council conducts verification of contracted professionals before deployment to examination centres.
Preparations for national examinations
The large-scale recruitment comes as KNEC prepares for the administration of the 2026 national examinations and assessments, which require a substantial workforce to ensure effective supervision and adherence to examination regulations.
With about 230,000 contracted professionals targeted for engagement, eligible teachers and education officials are expected to complete their registration and update their profiles through the CP2 system.
The registration will enable KNEC to capture accurate information on personnel involved in the supervision, invigilation and management of examinations and facilitate their subsequent deployment.
