Kisumu Senior Academy, Kodero Bara shine in Science, Engineering fair

Kisumu Senior Academy and Kodero Bara High School emerged the best institutions in this year’s Science and Engineering Fair for Nyanza Region.

During the hotly contested competitions that took place at Isebania High School between April 5 and April, Kisumu Seniour Academy emerged the champions with 10 items to proceed to the National Championship.

They were followed by Kodero Bara Boys High School who won in four items to place them  in the National Championship ring.

Among the schools from Kisii County that qualified to National competitions include Gamba under Energy and Transport category and St. Patricks Mosocho under Behavioural Science category.

Others are Magena Girls who won  in Food Technology category and Kisii National School who excelled in their exhibitions on agriculture.

Nyanza Region Science and Engineering Fair attracted 131 Secondary School from the four Counties in the region.

Kisii County Director of Education, Philip Chirchir, has lauded schools from the area who participated successfully during the Regional Science and Engineering Fair at Isebania  High School in Migori County.

“These schools from our County that qualified to National competitions is a clear manifestation that the county has a great potential of producing future scientists,” he said.

The director who spoke at his office on Thursday assured the winning teams from the area good luck and support as they proceed to the National Competitions.

Commenting on the good performance, Migori County Director of Education Jacob Onyiego termed the success a harbinger of more good surprises.

“There is a lot to come from Migori County starting from academics, sports and other extra curriculum activities because the institutions have the support from Ministry,” he said.

The National Science and Engineering Fair will be held from April 22 to April 27 at Kisumu Girls School in Kisumu County.
