Kisii’s Nduru Boys gets Ksh100 million to boost school infrastructure

Nduru Boys’ High School in Kisii County has received Ksh100 million from the national government to help it improve its infrastructure to match with its elevation into national status.

Speaking when he delivered the cheque, South Mugirango MP Sylivanus Osoro said the move was a broader plan by the government to support the construction of schools and equip them well in the whole country in order to avoid any claimed economic development balances.

“The government gave Nduru boys’ school the money to expand its classrooms and accommodate more students from the rest of the country and today we are here to launch electricity connectivity.” He  said.

The MP was speaking at Riana Ward in Bonchari Constituency when he joined other legislators from the area to raise money for the area’s empowerment of Women and the youth.

He asked the residents to use the electricity to start small business like welding, hatching and rearing of chicks and barber shops to support themselves.

The work of the government is to facilitate to provide facilities like schools, markets and hospitals and it was the responsibilities of the communities to challenge themselves to get best ways of utilizing those facilities for their social economic survival.

The meeting was attended by Nyaribari Chache Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jandah, Both Nyamira and Kisii Woman Reoresentative Jerusah Momanyi and Doris Aburi and Nominated Senator Essy Okenyuri.

Okenyuri lauded CS for education Julius Ogamba for the good work he is doing in the Ministry and asked him to elevate more girls’ schools into National status to enable the girls to get chances of good learning opportunities that will make them equal to their boy counterpart.

“The elevation of Kereri and Ichuni Girls’into national status is a good gesture but we request the ministry to consider elevating more deserving girls’ institution.

Other schools from the region that have been elevated into National schools from the region in this year include Riokindo from Kenyenya Subcounty,Cardinal Otunga Mosocho from Kisii Central Subcounty all from Kisii county while Kebirigo boys” was only recent elevated i stitutiin into national status to join the existing Sironga,Nyambaria and Nyabururu and Kisii School in the region.
