- Kaimosi Friends University has signed an MoU with Donghua University to strengthen research, innovation and academic exchange

Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) has entered into a partnership with China’s Donghua University aimed at strengthening research, innovation and academic exchange between the two institutions.
The two universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, August 27, 2026, during the Sino-Africa International Symposium on Textiles and Apparel held at Moi University in Eldoret. KAFU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Peter Mwita signed the agreement on behalf of the Kenyan university, while Prof. Wang Zhidong represented Donghua University.
The partnership will provide a framework for joint research programmes, innovation initiatives, scholarships, academic and cultural exchanges, and mobility opportunities for students and staff. The agreement is also expected to facilitate the sharing of academic expertise and research knowledge between scholars from the two institutions.

For KAFU, the partnership comes as the university seeks to broaden its international collaborations and create more opportunities for its students and staff to engage with institutions beyond Kenya. The collaboration with Donghua University will also provide a platform for the two institutions to pursue areas of mutual academic and research interest.

The signing took place against the backdrop of growing academic and institutional cooperation between African and Chinese universities, particularly in research, technology, innovation and skills development. KAFU said the agreement underscores its commitment to expanding its international partnerships and enhancing opportunities for its university community.
