HELB opens portal for varsity students with disabilities

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has announced that it has opened its portal for applications for the 2022- 2023 National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWPD) Education Grant Scheme which the agency said is exclusive to students living with disabilities.

“The scheme is open for all persons with disabilities registered with NCPWPD and admitted in public and private universities, TVET institutions, approved medical training institutions, and other parts approved and accredited institutions of higher learning in Kenya,” the notice read in part.

“At later dates, you will receive notifications on receipt and verification of application, award and disbursements of the NCPWD Education Grants awards,” the agency announced.

For those applicants who would wish to apply are asked to log onto the official Helb website www.helb.co.ke  and create an account by clicking ` person with disability ` option and key in the PWD Certificate Number to enable them access to the grant application form, then proceed to level of study, then click on `Scholarship Application` and fill in the NCPW Education Grant Scheme Application.

All this should be done before the deadline which is May 17, 2023. Applicants are also required to submit a copy to the Helb collection points.
