Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Chairman Dr. Jamleck Muturi has revealed that the government will recruit 30,000 teachers by January 2023 to enhance effective teaching and learning in schools.
Speaking during the 18th KEPSHA Annual General Conference held at Sheikh Zayed Children Welfare Centre in Mombasa, Dr Muturi revealed that the government is aware of the teacher shortage which currently stands at 116,000.
The TSC Chairman disclosed that the teachers will be employed in phases, further adding that TSC will look into the issue of teachers’ promotions.
